The first paragliding center was opened in Sharjah

The first licensed paragliding center began operating in the Mleiha Desert.

The first licensed paragliding center, Sky Adventures, has started hosting the first paragliding center in the desert of the Emirate of Sharjah. The sports center is open to both amateurs and professionals. The paragliders take off from Al Faya Mountain over the Mleiha Desert.

Sky Adventures offers three activity options: a pairs flight with a professional instructor, a basic paragliding training course with an international license and a flight program for licensed athletes to improve their skills.

The Pair flight with an instructor takes place from a height of 300 meters and lasts 10-15 minutes (including preflight training and safety instruction). The course lasts 4 days and consists of 4 3-hour sessions, including theoretical and practical lessons with a professional instructor, at the end of which a student can make 5 independent flights and get the International Glider License.

The program for licensed skydivers includes a 500m flight over central Sharjah under the supervision of a professional instructor. The package also includes full ground handling, weather assessment and equipment rental.

With the new center Sharjah Authorities aim to promote the sporting culture of the Emirate. The Sharjah Paragliding Center was initiated by Shurooq Sharjah Investment and Development Authority in cooperation with Emirates Aerospace Foundation.
