Dubai’s largest shopping and entertainment complex announced a name change after 14 years of operation, announcing a change in the social network TikTok. Now it is simply called Dubai Mall – without the article “The”.
Despite the name change, Dubai Mall is still a favorite mall for residents and visitors to Dubai. Social media users reacted to the news differently – some were delighted, others were saddened.
Some subscribers pointed out that they did not know that there was an article in the name of the mall. The Dubai Mall is now actively changing its name on social media outlets TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.
Dubai Mall is the most visited shopping and entertainment center in the world, receiving more than 100 million visitors annually. It houses more than 1,200 retail outlets and over 200 international restaurants.
Dubai Mall is an oasis of fashion. It has 70 stores of the world’s elite brands, including the first department stores in the Middle East Bloomingdale’s and Galeries Lafayette. The Fashion Avenue section features couture fashion from names such as Versace, Burberry and others.
The Gold Souk section offers jewelry and the Level Shoes section offers a wide range of shoes. The waterfall fountain (perhaps the most photographed place in Dubai Mall) and The Village section, where you can take a walk under the open sky in the winter months thanks to the sliding roof, deserve special attention. The mall building is directly connected to the five-star Address Dubai Mall hotel, which is unusually convenient for guests who want to go shopping.
In 2019, the mall was expanded by nearly 15,000 square meters with the opening of an additional building, Dubai Mall Zabeel. It houses many new restaurants and stores, as well as parking for 3,000 spaces. The buildings are connected by an air-conditioned covered pedestrian bridge.
